CacheRabbit Privacy Policy

Effective August 13, 2026 · Applies to the CacheRabbit browser extension

The whole policy in one sentence: CacheRabbit collects no data, transmits no data, and makes no network requests. Everything it does happens inside your browser, and we could not see your data even if we wanted to.

What CacheRabbit does

CacheRabbit shows you what each website stores in your browser (cookies and site data such as caches and IndexedDB) and clears it site-by-site when you tell it to. To do that job, it reads certain browser data locally, on your device. None of it ever leaves your browser.

What it accesses, and why

Data	Why	Where it goes
Cookies (all sites)	To count and size each site's cookies, and delete them when you clear a site.	Nowhere. Read and displayed on your device only.
Stored site data sizes	To show each site's real storage footprint when you click "Measure stored data." Chrome only exposes these numbers through its debugging channel, which is why Chrome briefly shows a "CacheRabbit started debugging this browser" notice. It disappears the moment measuring finishes. No page content is read or changed.	Nowhere. Displayed on your device only.
Browsing history (read-only)	To show when you last visited each site, so you can tell active logins from forgotten sites and trackers before deleting anything.	Nowhere. Never written to, never transmitted.
Open tab addresses	To mark sites that are open right now, so you don't clear something mid-session.	Nowhere.

What it stores

CacheRabbit keeps a small amount of its own data in your browser's local extension storage: a running total of what you've cleared, your settings, and any tracker verdicts you've made ("this is a tracker" / "this is not"). This stays on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the extension.

What it never does

No network requests: the extension contains no code that talks to any server
No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting
No accounts, sign-ins, or identifiers
No selling, sharing, or transferring of data: there is no data to sell
No ads, no affiliate injection, no monetization of your browsing

Donations

CacheRabbit is free. The dashboard links to our Ko-fi page (ko-fi.com/cacherabbit) if you choose to support it. Clicking that link opens Ko-fi in a normal browser tab; anything you do there is governed by Ko-fi's own privacy policy. The extension itself sends nothing to Ko-fi or anyone else.

Changes to this policy

If CacheRabbit's privacy practices ever change (for example, if a future feature required any network communication) this policy will be updated before that version ships, with the change described plainly at the top. Given the product's design, we do not expect that to happen.
